Nice shot and very clear. The sky gives a good mood.

Avatar Martin

 09/22/05 @873

The shot has indeed captured a lot of detail. I think it lacks a bit of mood though. There are a lot of saturated colors in the image and and the lighting doesn't really add much either. You captured a wonderful scene though so it's mostly personal preference ;)

Wonderful photograph... great depth of fiedl and details are good across the board. I wouldnt mind this one Black and white. The clouds really set the mood with the gargoyle.. Well done

Avatar KaibutsuX

 09/23/05 @969

I like the idea, but I could see the framing getting tighter to eliminate some of the space around the gargoyle. I think a night shot would look great too to eliminate some of the background business. But overall I really like it. Great work!

Cool photo ! I like the statue on the side, and then the eiffel tower in almost the middle of the screen. Also the sky is typical europe, i'm from the Netherlands :p . very nice, it basically has everything, from roads, to water, to trees , and new and old buildings, so u got pretty much whole paris in there :p nice job!!!

Avatar Colin

 09/23/05 @980

I'm going to have to agree with Martin on this one; while it's a wonderful shot, there's definitely a mood missing. I think a night shot, highlighting the statue more centrally would improve the composition quite a bit. Also, if possible, maybe getting the shot from behind the statue, over the shoulder, would also help to establish more of a perspective. The title; 'my time will come', seems to imply that you're referencing the statue. If so, bring it in tighter on it, give it more focus.

This is a great starting point though, and you're definitely on the right track! :)

Details are great, but the image is a bit bland. Desaturating the color and/or warming the hues a touch would go a long way toward improving it. I'd normally give this picture an 8/10, but I'm not a fan of PMed solicitations so in this case: +0. Spaming for votes/comments feels a little too much like cheating to me. ;)

maybe a b&w or sepia color scheme would help here. i miss some 'soul' or 'feeling' in here. still a nice sight in that shot.

Avatar eowyn

 09/23/05 @166

yes, i miss some feeling too, although techinacally the clarity and the composition is already good. maybe in BW will make a good "my time will come" feeling.
nice job anyway...

lovely shot, nice details...
Colin: a night shot, where the Eiffel is in the picture.. is hard to get without be a legal publicated on this site... either is a poweroff in the tower or pay the fee for having the Eiffel on Internet..
And I am strongly disagree that the picture doesn't have the mood...
There are clouds, and the evil is standing and looking over the city like he is preparing the take over...

+10

hmmmmmmm..... my first though was the same as some of the others here, that there is some mood missing - which I am in agreeance, I think a night shot that highlighted the gargoyle as well as the city would be gorgeous.

Though, this is a day shot so I'll concentrate on that aspect of it. I think it is wonderful! I think the statue overlooking the city is fantastic, I think you took it at exactly the right moment so there aren't too many cars on the streets, and the perspective is amazing, I can even see the horizon over all the buildings! You showcase a wonderful negative space between the buildings and the clouds as well.

It's an awesome shot.... I am one to favor more moody or dramatic pictures though, so I can't say it's for me - but you definately didn't do a regular touristy shot! Rating on everything in the picture and not taking my personal preference into account, +10

I won't be all nice and say "ooh" and "aah", but okey here we go.
As someone else said, I think this would be excellent for a photomanip... I think it looks flat. The statue pop out some but I still think the picture looks flat. Flat and gret and slightly boring. Though if I really give it a chance and look at it, and look at it, and look at it, I wanna look at it even more, it becomes really interesting when I start thinking of it... But I think this picture need that little *something* that atttcracts at the first view, cause if I was just looking through a gallery, I would hardly notice this. Still, very (!) good idea and good job!

Keep on shooting! :)

every fiber in my body screams : panorama!!! i wish you took a few
pictures turning to the right and then some stitchwork....

Nice photo, I like it, especially since it looks like the gargoyle's face points towards to Eiffel Tower. I would also try a black a white version of this photo, as some have mentioned before it may add more feeling to it. Great shot otherwise!

Nice shot, not to mention DARING, (I'm getting vertigo just looking at the photo!). I hadn't seen Paris from this point of view before.

I like to take photos of the architecture in London, but these days it's hard to get up high anywhere that's not a tourist spot.

Like it.

I'm really late on this one, but I couldn't help myself. Having stood in that exact spot, just had to comment that your shot turned out far better than mine did . Very nice shot and what a beautiful place.
